Top Missiles of India: cruise missile and ballistic missiles

There is two type of missile available in India cruise missile and ballistic missiles.

Ballistic Missiles: A Ballistic Missile is launched directly into the high layers of the earth's atmosphere. It travels well outside the atmosphere and then the warhead detaches and falls back to earth. It follows the path of an object thrown upwards in the parabolic path which falls down. Since it depends on gravity to reach its target, it's called a ballistic missile. For example, Prithvi I, Prithvi II, Agni I, Agni II and Dhanush ballistic missiles are currently operational in the Indian defense forces.
Cruise missile: A cruise missile is rocket or jet powered and flies to its target within the atmosphere, using the lift to stay up. Most have wings, although a few may use lifting body designs. They maneuver using control surfaces on the wings and tail like an airplane. Mission profiles can include big course changes, to evade air defenses, or to hug terrain to stay hidden. They can be launched from fixed ground positions but most are launched from mobile platforms. They tend to have shorter ranges than ballistic missiles. Examples are Nirbhay and Brahmos.
